K-Grandmas Kimchi Class

Join us for a hands-on, 1.5-hour workshop where you'll learn how to make traditional Korean kimchi using a time-honored recipe passed down from our grandmothers. Guided by a local instructor, you’ll prepare your own batch of napa cabbage kimchi from scratch—mixing, seasoning, and packing it just like generations of Korean families have done for centuries. At the end of the class, you’ll take home the kimchi you made, along with the knowledge (and confidence!) to make it again wherever you are in the world. No experience needed—just come ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into Korea’s most iconic dish.
Total class time is 1.5 hours.
Inside the Workshop

Start by combining the seasoning paste and stuffing ingredients. This is where the magic begins—bringing everything together by hand in a way that’s both bold and balanced. You’ll get a feel for the texture and depth that define real Korean kimchi.
Next, you’ll gently open each cabbage leaf and fill it with the paste, layer by layer. This step is personal and hands-on—an art passed down through generations. It’s the heart of the process, where your kimchi really comes to life.

Once your cabbage is fully seasoned, we’ll prepare it for fermentation. You’ll carefully pack your kimchi into a vacuum-sealed bag, ready to take home. With the right care, it’ll ferment beautifully—and you’ll have made it yourself from scratch.
To wrap up the experience, you’ll enjoy a tasting of the kimchi you made, served with a small bite of bossam (braised pork). It’s a traditional pairing that celebrates the deep flavor and cultural roots of Korean kimchi-making. Vegetarian option available.
